A fire near Iola on Monday night resulted in the total loss of one home.
That is according to the Iola Volunteer Fire Department, who responded to the home on Bluebonnet Lane around 3 am. Their repots did say no one was injured during the blaze, and the residents did escape safely.
The fire took more than an hour to contain, as crews from Iola VFD and the Anderson VFD responded to the scene.
The cause of the fire was not immediately determined, but the lightning from overnight storms could not be ruled out.
No further information has been released.
