House District 13 Representative Ben Leman not seeking re-election in 2022

September 7, 2021 by Andre Perrard

Grimes County State Representative Ben Leman is not seeking re-election during the next cycle.

The Texas House District 13 Rep announced Friday he will not be on the ballot next fall. Leman has served 3 terms, and plans to finish out the remainder of his current term.

He said in part in a statement “I have enjoyed fighting each and every day with you for our rural Texas values, and will continue to do so as a private citizen.”

Leman was Grimes County judge when he won a special election in May 2018, to fill the unexpired term left when Lois Kolhorst moved to the State Senate. He was then elected two full terms for House District 13, which includes Grimes, Burleson, Washington, Fayette, Colorado, and Lavaca Counties.
