The Groovy Grapes Wine Walk returned to Navasota last weekend, after about a year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic last year.
And, as you’ll hear the Examiner’s Ana Cosino and City Manager Brad Stafford discuss during the most recent Grilling Stafford episode, it was quite a turnout.
“There were over 275 attendees,” said Cosino.
“That is the ones who bought tickets,” Stafford said.
“Exactly,” said Cosino. “Those are the ones who paid to be part of the wine walk.”
“I saw plenty without wristbands, that weren’t part of the wine walk, that showed up, and just said ‘hey, we are here to shop,'” said Stafford.
He even noted as well that people from out of town came in, and fell in love with the city.
“It was interesting, on Monday, we were meeting with our contractor on Railroad Street. And these two gentlemen walked up and started talking to me, and I could see they were looking around the town. But, they were here for the wine walk, and decided to come back because they loved Navasota so much, and they were from the Woodlands,” Stafford said.
