More and more investors are coming to the City of Navasota with inquiries to purchase city owned property.
Community Development Director Guadalupe Diosdado presented an offer at a recent city council meeting from Jonathan Laconte in a few different areas, and Diosdado says he is not the first.
“This is now the third time, within roughly a year, that we are getting inquiries into property. We have sold property before, individual lots, but this is the first time we have gotten an extensive list like this,” said Diosdado
He said one of the lots was in the middle of the flood plain, and did not recommend selling that. He added, too, that anther one has a gas regulator n the corner, and suggessted an easement be placed on that property.
And as for getting bids for the actual sale…
“Typically, we recommend the sealed bid method. It is the quickest, most efficient route. So, if you go that way, we will go put a sealed bid notice in the paper, and then come back with a minimum,” Diosdado said.
Council voted to go through with the standard sealed bid process with a minimum.
There was no mention of what the buyer would want to do with the properties.
