The Iola Elementary School is hoping to stock its bookshelves by hosting a fall book fair, through this Friday. The school’s librarian Gena Inmon explains this is a times when kids, teachers and parents can find all the new releases for young readers.
Inmon tells Navasota News, having books near the students encourages the kids to stay interested in reading. It also keeps students who read at a higher grade level excited and learning.
Inmon says the book fair is run through the scholastic company. And for every book you or your kids buy this week, the school will get points it can use to purchase books, as well as other items to outfit the library.
This year’s book fair runs through this Friday from 8 to 3, she says, inviting you to come on by for a book for the family or even to volunteer your time. For more information call the Iola Elementary School, 936-394-2361 .
