Iola Bus Driver Walks Away With a Fine

October 21, 2014 by Willy1550

That off duty Iola ISD school bus driver involved in a train crash last month could be looking at paying for more than just a new vehicle. According to DPS’ just-released report, 46-year-old Hyla Raysor-Shivers failed to yield to a train on county road 122, at a crossing with a cross buck, but no crossing arms. Which luckily for her, as of yet, is only resulting in a fine that ranges up to $200.

As a CDL licensed driver, Corporal Jimmy Morgan adds, Raysor-Shivers won’t be able to just take defensive driving. She will either have to pay the fine or fight it in court.

Additionally as a moving violation that resulted in a crash Morgan continues, could add 3 points to her record and, any Texas driver who gets a total 6 points on their driving record could have their license revoked.
