An Iola ISD student has received special recognition from Governor Greg Abbott for a streak that would impress even the staunchest of pundits.
Iola fifth grade student Noah Montoya began school at age 6 in Kindergarten at Iola Elementary, and since then, has not missed a single day for school.
More than 1,000 days of perfect attendance got the attention of Abbott, who gave Montoya special recognition with a letter.
Montoya’s streak remains intact as next school year begins.
