Iola woman faces meth charges, plus three warrants from three counties

December 3, 2021 by Andre Perrard

An Iola woman is in the Brazos County jail on numerous charges after a traffic stop on Highway 21 last Thursday.

The Brazos County Sheriff’s arrest report says the officer stopped that car due to the license plate being expired. The driver then gave officers a false name, until she was identified. Upon speaking outside the vehicle, the woman gave consent to a search.

Inside, officers found glass pipes, namely used for smoking narcotics. Also inside was a backpack, which contained methamphetamine, plus a syringe with clear liquid inside. Officers found in the woman’s purse a rock of methamphetamine.

40 year old Suzanne McClelland was arrested, and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance PG1, and Failure to Identify or Give Fictitious Info. McClelland also had warrants out of three counties, Potter, Taylor and Hale, for drugs and theft.

She remains in jail on bonds which total $41,000.
