Jail Staff Charged with Leaking

May 19, 2018 by Willy1550

A Grimes County Sheriff’s Jailer has been terminated, after she and a former jailer were arrested and charged with misusing official information.

Grimes County Sheriff Don Sowell says 24-year-old Navasota resident Kaylee Elizabeth Dover had little reaction as she was arrested upon her arrival for work on the 10th.  And shortly after Dover was booked, Sowell says deputies took a past employee in custody on similar charges.

Sheriff Sowell reports both jailer and communication staff Dover and former jail and communications staff employee 25-year-old Chelsea Ann Bailey of Plantersville bonded out of the Grimes County Jail on $3500 bails each, within hours of their arrest.

Thankfully, the sheriff tells Navasota news he doesn’t think any damage was done to the investigation in which the leaking is alleged to have occurred .

And the sheriff was right, as the subject of that investigation, 28-year-old Charles Joshua Raines of Plantersville subsequently turned himself in to the Grimes County Jail on his outstanding warrant.
