Judge delivers Life Without Parole sentence to Brenham man who fatally shot convivence store clerk

A Brenham man admits in Brazos County district court to shooting and killing a College Station convenience store clerk and shooting and injuring a Bryan convenience store clerk.

As part of a plea agreement with the district attorney’s office, 32 year old Rufus Lockett of Brenham avoids the death penalty for the shootings that took place during a 13 day period in December of 2018.

Lockett received life without the possibility of parole for the death of the clerk who was working at the College Station Valero at Rock Prairie and the freeway. A clerk who was shot at the Bryan Valero at Villa Maria and Cavitt suffered extensive heart damage.
