Keep Navasota Beautiful with Blue Bonnets

October 7, 2014 by Willy1550

It’s that time of year once again, when you can uniquely honor someone you love, or remember someone you’ve lost with beautiful bluebonnets, by taking part in Keep Navasota Beautiful’s wildflower seed planting project.

Committee member Connie Clements tells Navasota News, 567,000 pounds of blue bonnet seeds have been planted so far and you can add to that by buying a pound of seed for only $20. And she continues, you’ll also get an acknowledgment card for your contribution.

Clements says, this project can celebrate a birth, marriage, anniversary or, like her, a loved one. Last year was her first time participating, Clements’s husband had recently pasted away and this was her way to remember him.

The seeds will be scattered on saturday, the 25th of this month at a location yet to be determined. You can take part in that, or not. But you have to get your order in soon.

You have only until Friday (oct 10th) to turn in applications and/or donations. You can pick up those applications at Navasota’s City hall, library or Navasota Center. For more information call 936-825-6450.
