If Santa brought you some new shoes, or if there’s any reason you have new or gently used shoes you don’t need, why not pass them on to someone who does?
That’s why the NISD’s School Health Advisory Council, working with the Dallas-based World Wear Project, is asking you to donate them.
Navasota high school nurse Kathy Busa tells Navasota News they’ll be collecting them on through this Friday (1/30) at each school under the District as well as Navasota City Hall.
Last year, she says, the drive collected a hundred and fifty pair. And those who didn’t find a home locally, still helped here, Busa goes on, as world wear project gives the district a small cash reward for all shoes sent in.
And who knows? Your unneeded footwear from child to adult could help out someone as far away from the County of Grimes as Cameroon, Mozambique, Tanzania, Guatemala, Chile, Honduras or elsewhere.
