All four state representatives serving the Brazos Valley vote for a House bill that would take away some authority of cities and counties.
Representative Kyle Kacal, who represents Grimes County, said he visited with local officials before the final vote.
Kacal said if he did not support the bill from Dustin Burrows of Lubbock, then Kacal had no chance of advancing his legislation.
Also voting for HB 2127 were John Raney, whose district includes Brazos County, Stan Gerdes, whose district includes Burleson County, and Angelia Orr, whose district includes Leon County.
