A longtime staff member of the city of Navasota has passed away.
“May 14th we got word that our City Building Inspector, who had been here a number of years, Jack Kelso, passed away while he was on vacation. They had a memorial service on Sunday, out in Cleveland, some staff attended that,” said City Manager Jason Weeks at Monday’s City Council meeting, about Kelso, the longtime inspector.
He says for the time being, inspecting responsibilities are being conducted through contractor services, which they have in past years.
“We have not posted the position yet, we will probably do that next week some time,” said Weeks. “That position, though, is open and vacant.”
Services for Jack Kelso were held on Sunday afternoon.
