A Madisonville business owner was arrested Friday afternoon on child sexual assault charges.

That arrest follows a month long investigation by Madisonville police into the owner of the El Mercadito store on Highway 75.

Madisonville PD says they arrested the owner, 46 year old Jose Jaime Rivera of Bryan, after conducting a search warrant at the business. It was not mentioned in the press release if anything was found at the store.

Rivera is facing two counts of sexual assault of a child, one count of aggravated sexual assault of a child, one count of continuous sexual abuse of a child under age 14. And one count of indecency with a child by sexual assault.

Authorities believe other survivors may be out there that have yet to come forward. Anyone with information on unreported assaults is asked to call Madisonville PD detectives at 936-348-3317.

Rivera has since been released after posting a $195,000 bond.
