Magnolia man jailed on DWI charges after being stopped going 146 miles per hour near Grimes County

December 5, 2022 by Andre Perrard

A car observed going almost 150 miles per hour near Grimes County lands a Magnolia man in jail on DWI charges.

Magnolia Police stopped the car travelling on FM 1488 near Mill Creek Road, which had been tagged by radar as going 146 miles per hour. The driver said he was just heading to get beer, and had no reason for his high speeds.

A breathalyzer test showed him to be double the legal limit, and he was arrested.

Authorities remind everyone to drive carefully, and never drive intoxicated.
