A man connected to a homicide investigation in Houston was arrested in Grimes County last week.
According to the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office, they arrested the suspect, 28 year old Erick Diaz-Aranda of Mexico, after serving a warrant last Friday. Sheriff Don Sowell confirmed on Tuesday that it was a joint arrest between the Sheriff’s Office, the ATF and Texas DPS.
Three agencies assisted in serving the warrant, which took authorities to a house on Highway 30 in Shiro. It is unclear if the suspect had connection to the home or residents living there.
Court documents show that Diaz-Aranda has been arrested multiple times in Houston from 2007 to 2009, with charges that include drug possession and burglary.
The murder that Diaz-Aranda is connected to happened on August 4th, and police have not released his mugshot due to them having a potential witness.
Diaz-Aranda was booked in the Grimes County Jail, and is awaiting transfer to the Harris County Jail.
