A Navasota man was arrested last week after a short chase with police.
According to the Bryan Police arrest report, the officer initiated a traffic stop for a motorcycle without a license plate. The driver sped away from the patrol car into a front yard before hitting a small tree and falling off of the motorcycle.
After speaking to the driver, officers discovered the motorcycle was stolen. The driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries, then transported to jail.
The driver was identified as 25 year-old Sonny Farris of Navasota. It was his 8th arrest since 2015.
He was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and evading arrest.
