On Thursday, February 27, 2025, at approximately 11:20 A.M, the Navasota Police Department received a 911 call from a male subject who was being transported to a mental health facility. During the call, the individual made threats to shoot the driver of the vehicle.
Dispatchers were able to pin the vehicle at a location near Highway 105 East and Highway 6, and officers were dispatched to the area. The van was found at a local convenience store, where officers observed the suspect making threats against law enforcement.
At the time, the driver was outside the vehicle, while the suspect remained in the back seat. As officers attempted to make contact, the suspect crawled to the front of the van and drove off, striking a parked vehicle before circling the parking lot. Officers then deployed a non-lethal weapon through the vehicle’s glass, causing the van to crash into an air compressor.
The suspect was immediately taken into custody without further incident. It was determined that the individual was being transported to a mental health facility for treatment at the time of the incident. The suspect sustained minor, non-life-threatening injuries and is currently receiving medical care.
Charges are pending as the investigation remains ongoing. For further information, please contact the Navasota Police Department at (936) 825-6475.
