After years of hassles, and trying to nail down specifics, the city of Navasota’s work with AMERESCO on the meter replacement projects, and the replacement of the city’s Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition, also known as the SCADA system, is just about complete.
“That project is about 99 percent complete, got just a few small items to take care of,” said City Manager Brad Stafford during an episode of grilling Stafford.
He said that the SCADA system, thus far, has worked well.
That project also included replacing all the water and gas meters throughout town, and those upgrades will lead to a new online portal for citizen’s this October.
“That will give our citizen’s the ability to sign up on the internet, access their meter on their account, and they can see, and set up, certain parameters for warnings on usages, and other things with water and gas. It is going to be really neat. We are planning that we roll that our publicly in October, and hope that at our meeting in September, we’re going to show people what that is going to look like,” said Stafford.
