Faster internet has been announced to come to Grimes County for some time, but when are thing supposed to be ready to roll?
Mid-South Synergy’s Division Manager of Member Services, Justin Stapleton, says that the first steps are in motion.
“The first part of phase one, where we have what we call ‘friendlies,” the people testing the service right now, is on the east side of Navasota, in that Highway 105 corridor. If you look on the map, it is Zone 102, which is where we are testing right now. And we will begin building out in the immediate area surrounding Zone 102 very soon,” said Stapleton.
Zone 102 refers to a map, which you can see here, that shows where all fiber cables are being installed in our area.
That website is also where you need to go if you would like to get their internet service.
“Everyone that is interested in Mid-South Fiber internet needs to pre-register. So, go to midsouthfiber.com, enter your address in what we call the ‘registration widget,’ at the top of the page, and go through that process of pre-registration, that way we know you are interested wherever you are. Whether you are in downtown Navasota or you live in Bedias, we need you to pre-register so we know you are interested,” said Stapleton.
Stapleton added that, for video updates and more recent pictures, you can visit their Facebook page.
