A Montgomery motorcyclist was killed, and a Grimes County woman and three children who were riding with her were injured in a two-vehicle accident south of Navasota, October 12th, near the West Highway Six frontage road and FM 3090.
Navasota Police Chief Justin Leeth reports 44-year-old Todd Johnson of Montromery was driving a 2016 Suzuki Motorcycle headed southbound on the frontage road. Witness say he ran a Stop sign and was struck by a 2015 GMC Acadia that was being driven by 43-year-old Navasota resident Anna Contraras.
Chief says both Ms Contraras and three juveniles who were in the car with her were transported but with non-life-threatening injuries.
Meanwhile, Chief Leeth says Johnson was transported to the CHI Grimes St. Joseph Health Center in Navasota where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.
But even with Johnson’s death, the Chief tells Navasota News that the incident remains under investigation.
Johnson’s body has been sent for autopsy, Leeth explains, and his department will wait to close the case out pending the autopsy results.
So that means we’ll keep following this story as well, and if that autopsy does uncover some new information that shed’s more light on the cause of this accident, we’ll let you know about it, right here on Navasota News.
