According to a press release from the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office, “On Friday, November 22, 2024, at approximately 10:16 a.m. a reporting party called Grimes County Sheriff’s Office and advised that a male subject wanted to harm himself and he had a handgun. More information was gathered in order to locate subject. Subject’s vehicle was located on CR 215 in Anderson.
An area search was initiated involving drones and TDC tracking K9s to locate subject. A local resident reported seeing subject on their game camera, an area was then blocked off while it was searched by the K9s.
At approximately 4:56 p.m. the subject was located on CR 215 west of FM 1486. Units responded to that area, and they located the subject who was in possession of a handgun.
At approximately 10:11 p.m., DPS Negotiators were able to talk the subject into putting the firearm down and surrendering without incident.
Subject was transported to Baylor Scott & White for evaluation.
