Have you seen the new faces around Navasota? They’re being featured on the sides of several downtown buildings, courtesy of one of the new artists in residence at the historic Horlock house.
Artist Mick Burson tells Navasota News, he focuses mainly on public art and murals. He recently painted giant donuts on thye side of a donut shop and was given several walls to work with, after city officials showed him around town.
Burson says he’s painted many murals. Sometimes he would just ask if he could paint the owner’s wall for free. Others, where he was paid, he would take the community’s aesthetics into consideration.
But if you don’t feel like running around town to glimpse its latest additions, he says there are some pieces ready for show, at the Horlock house.
Each artist is residence has their own area in which to work.
You can visit Burson and the other artists and admire their efforts from 9-6 Wednesdays through Sundays at 1215 East Washington right here in Navasota.
