The Grimes County Jail is the new home of a young Houston man charged with murdering a young Conroe man here last week. Just transferred following his arrest in Houston, 19-year-old Tyrus Jamond Peters’ bond has been set at a million dollars.
Initially, local deputies and paramedics responded to a call from a resident on county road 306, who’d made a grisly discovery on her doorstep.
Sheriff’s Captain Blake Jarvis tells Navasota News, investigators discovered the body of 19-year-old David Avery Brown, who had been shot multiple times. An autopsy has been ordered. Results are pending
Deputies explain they were led to suspect peters after interviews with friends, relatives and witnesses. And that, in turn, led investigators to travel to Houston, where they eventually caught up with him.
Deputies say they believe peters was threatening brown over some borrowed money, in an ongoing argument that brought both men to grimes, where peters allegedly threatened brown with a gun, then killed him with it.
If convicted, Peters could spend the rest of his life behind bars and face a fine of up to $10,000. And we’ll keep you updated, right here on Navasota News.
