After two years of hiatus due to the pandemic, the Texas Education Association has released their report card grades for each district in the state, including Grimes County. All four districts saw either major improvements, or retained their stellar across the board ratings.
The biggest improvements came in Navasota ISD, with the district leaping from a 69 overall rating in 2019, to an 83 rating this year, good for a ‘B’ on the report card.
For reference, in 2016, Navasota ISD was listed as “Improvement Required,” with a score of 55.
Navasota High School received a ‘B’ rating, and a distinction designation in English/Language Arts. Navasota Junior High also jumped from an ‘F’ rating in 2019, all the way to a 79 ‘C’ rating overall, just missing out on a ‘B’ rating. All NISD campuses garnered a ‘C’ or better.
Across the county, meanwhile, Iola ISD and Anderson-Shiro ISD both collected overall ‘A’ grades from TEA, once again, with every school in each district scoring above 90. Overall, Iola ISD recieved a grade of 94, and ASCISD a 92.
Both received an ‘A’ in 2019 as well.
Richards ISD also kept their same rating, receiving a ‘B,’ as they did in 2019.
