The Navasota airport is taking even more steps toward some future growth.
At Monday’s City Council meeting, Jennifer Reyna from the Airport Board talked with city council about the new Automated Weather/Surface Observing System, saying that will take about one year to complete. But, she is taking another step to help put the airport on the map.
“Soon, I will be sending a letter of interest to TXDOT to do an Updated Layout Plan, a ULP, which is done by the TXDOT Aviation Division. That has not been done since 2004, and that will help guide us toward direction in the future,” said Reyna.
She said that bids for the AWOS system are being taken action on December 12th, and the system will begin being put up shortly afterward.
