A disturbance at a College Station residence led to the arrest of a Navasota man and woman on drug and weapon charges last Thursday.
According to the arrest report from College Station Police, they arrested 49 year old Christopher Ferrell Johnson and 31 year old Lashonda Shante Lewis, both of Navasota.
The report says they responded to a disturbance on Lincoln Street, where the caller said her mother was inside being assaulted by her ex-boyfriend, Johnson, and that the man’s sister, Lewis, was there with a gun.
As the caller was on with dispatch, they said the front door of the home was open, with about 5 or 6 people inside fighting.
One officer saw the two suspects in a car near the scene, and said they appeared to be hiding something, making furtive movements when told to come see the officer.
Authorities made contact with the original victim, who said she and Johnson had broken up in January, and she had been dating another man. She said while at home, that is when Johnson, Lewis, and her 11 year old son, showed up at the door. From there, Johnson charged inside, and hit the woman in the face, causing swelling near her eye.
The woman’s boyfriend came between the Johnson and woman, where she said suddenly, Lewis had a gun. She said she ran to another room, but Lewis followed, and pointed the gun at her face, demanding to tell her boyfriend to let go of Johnson in their fight. Eventually, Johnson and Lewis left with no further incident.
When questioning Lewis, officers stated that she acted nervously. She stated that Johnson picked up her son, and said he had to go by the residence to get his wallet. Lewis said they were invited I, and after an insult about her mother, she followed the woman and boyfriend to their room, before exiting for a cigarette. She said the woman was “playing all three men,” and the two had had altercations in the past.
Authorities searched the vehicle they were in, and found a black backpack, which yielded around 7 grams of marijuana, a marijuana grinder, a jar with marijuana residue, a box of .380 ammo, and a small baggy consistent with packaging of narcotics. Also discovered under the passenger seat was a black Walther .22 handgun, and a 12 gauge Remington pump shotgun in the trunk.
Victims later identified the .380 as the handgun Lewis used, distinguished by green stipes on the handle. Deputies soon discovered as well that the firearm was reported stolen out of College Station in May 2018.
Johnson and Lewis were both arrested.
Johnson, who has a previous Felony conviction, was charged with two counts of Burglary of a Habitation with Intent to Commit Assault, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. It is Johnson’s 13th time in the Brazos County jail since 1998.
Lewis was charged with Burglary of a Habitation with Intent to Commit Assault, Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon, and Possession of Marijuana under 2 ounces.
