Navasota’s Mayor Bert Miller honored those who volunteer for some of the city’s non-profits earlier this month, for their ongoing work helping make the Texas Blues Capital a better a place to be.
Assisted by the BVCog’s Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) Coordinator, Miller proclaimed Tuesday, April 5th, National Service Recognition Day in Navasota.
Among the many organizations honored at City Hall was Computer Class Ministries, led by Emily Thomas, which has taught senior citizens how to get their digital feet wet for a dozen years now.
Then, after assisting Mayor Miller with his proclamation, RSVP Coordinator Becky Brown managed to redden his face a bit as she thanked him for volunteering his time, as well.
Before leaving, the Mayor took another moment thanking all of the gathered volunteers for their invaluable service both to the city, and to their neighbors.
