Improvements to sidewalks in downtown Navasota will continue in the near future.
Approved at Monday night’s City Council meeting was the bid for the sidewalk revitalization from 8th Street to 10th Street.
“We will re-do the sidewalks with brick pavers, planter boxes, antique lighting…just to match all the rest of downtown. On one side it goes to the railroad track, and on the other it goes up to Baylor Lumber,” said City Manager Brad Stafford at the meeting.
Mayor Bert Miller noted that they have a deal for the sidewalks with Baylor Lumber as well, and the 8th to 10th street improvements should tie in nicely.
City council approved awarding the bid to Green Dream International in the amount of $383,210.98.
