Navasota City Manager Brad Stafford to retire in October after 15 years in position

September 8, 2021 by Willy1550

Navasota’s longest serving City Manager is retiring from public service next month.

Navasota City Council met in special executive session on Monday afternoon to consider and possibly take action on City Manager Brad Stafford’s Employment Agreement, related issues, potential roles and/or duties in facilitating the transition to a new City Manager. After an hour and a half in a closed session, Mayor Bert Miller returned, and announced no action would be taken.

He was hired as City Manager of Navasota in 2006, and won the Administrator of the Year Award from the Texas City managers Association in 2015.

Stafford’s last day will be October 29th. City council will move forward in future meetings to determine with whom to fill his seat.
