Even though the Navasota City pool is opening for the summer months tomorrow, they will not be offering swim lessons this year, most likely.
“We are opening on a shoestring. We have three lifeguards, and there are criteria we must live by on numbers of patrons versus lifeguards…it will be hard to have a full house. We have some lifeguards in waiting, that is people that need to be trained, so we are working hard on that, but it is going to take a little time to get them trained. So, probably at this time, no swim lessons. But, stay tuned, things could change,” said Navasota City Manager Brad Stafford during a recent episode of Grilling Stafford.
He says that, if you know anyone who is can teach lessons, the city welcomes the help.
“If someone is certified, and wants to talk with us about teaching swim lessons, please give us a call,” said Stafford.
Announced today, the Navasota City Pool will be opening tomorrow, Friday, June 19th, from 10 am to 6 pm. Summer hours are Wednesday through Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm, and Sunday’s from 3 pm to 8 pm.
There is a $3 admission fee to sit or swim, and guests are asked to maintain social distancing. Any questions can e directed to the city at 936-825-6475.
