Navasota City Council gave tentative approval in it April 17th session to a brand new type of recycling facility here, called an anaerobic digester.
Eco Fuels Jeff Floyd told council they came here because the B/CS, Navasota and Brenham area is one of worst CO-2 polluters in the state. But with the project it could not only harness and use the CO-2 as fuel, it could also help generate funds for the city.
Floyd said the non-binding agreement doesn’t require any land; just permission to locate their seventy-two foot wide, fifty-eight foot high tank next to the city’s waste water plant.
While Floyd admitted there’s lots of research still needed, he added that President Obama’s recent pledge to reduce the nation’s carbon footprint, makes this what he called a perfect storm of opportunity.
