The Navasota Examiner is asking citizen’s to stay cautious, as scam callers are using their name to try and obtain personal information.
The calls are directed at local businesses from people saying they work and/or are affiliated with the newspaper, persistently calling and asking for email addresses.
The Examiner said in a Facebook post as well that the calls reference articles or awards, mostly going through the 2022 Best of Grimes County list, calling local businesses in that section.
The folks at the Examiner ask you do not give them any personal information.
