Navasota gets enough lifeguards, city pool planned for opening this summer

June 5, 2020 by Willy1550

One week ago, the City of Navasota was looking for lifeguards, as they did not have enough to open the city pool for the summer. Just a short seven days later, and the city pool may be ready for action this summer.

“We actually have enough lifeguards, where we plan to open soon. We’re actually preparing the pool right now. We already have some of those lifeguards on duty cleaning, because the pool is in need of some pretty deep cleaning. So, they are working on that,” said Navasota City Manager Brad Stafford during an episode of Grilling Stafford this week.

He says they do not have an exact date for the pool to open yet, but hope to announce that soon. There was an issue with a pump, and a few other maintenance fixes that the city is currently rectifying.

While they have enough to open the pool, more lifeguards never hurts.

“We could still use a few more, so if someone out there wants to apply, we could sure use them,” Stafford said.

If you have any questions or would like to apply, you can contact City Hall at 936-825-6475.
