Navasota High School is going to be moving it’s graduation date.
“Unless prohibited by further events in the COVID-19 pandemic, we have rescheduled the May 29th graduation ceremony to July 24th, at 8 pm, in Rattler Stadium,” said principal Kristi Ramsey at the most recent NISD School Board Meeting via Zoom.
Superintendent Dr. Stu Musik talked about how Plan B had to become Plan A.
“That is basically as far back as we could push it to buy us as much time, just in case restrictions are lifted and we are able to have large group gatherings, without getting into the beginning of the next school year,” said Musik.
So, what becomes the new backup plan if the social distancing guidelines are extended past that date? Musik says they would think out-of-the-box.
“We would get creative, we will do something. We will absolutely do something to celebrate our graduating class of 2020, and get creative with an alternative form of graduation to be able to do that with them,” Musik stated.
