Navasota High School principal promoted to new district position, interim named

September 19, 2019 by Andre Perrard

An administrative change is coming to Navasota High School.

According to a release from NISD, principal Derek Bowman is going to be taking over as the district’s Director of Personnel and Administrative Services. Bowman will take over for Jeff Dyer, who held the position for two years, as he leaves for Marshall ISD effective November 4th.

In turn, Mrs. Kristi Ramsey, the current associate principal at the high school, will take over as the interim principal.

Dr. Musik says the district appreciates the work Mr. dyer gave the district, and is pleased for the new position at Marshall.

Bowman, who joined the district in 2004, was recently named the TASSP Region 6 Principal of the Year, and is in the running for Principal of the Year for the whole state. He has been principal at the high school since 2013.

Ramsey, a Texas A&M graduate who has been with the district since 2000, has been the associate principal at the high school since 2014.
