Navasota ISD one of 40 districts awarded Texas Art Education Association’s District of Distinction Award

August 31, 2021 by Andre Perrard

Navasota ISD has garnered another state level award, this time in Visual Arts.

According to the district, NISD has won the 2020 Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) District of Distinction Award. Only the top four percent of districts in the state won, including Navasota ISD, meaning the district was one of forty winners.

NISD received the award for providing a well-rounded education that advocates and integrates visual arts curriculum to inspire creativity and build social emotional learning that connect learners to their community and beyond.

TAEA is the leading advocate for the visual arts in the state. This is the third year that TAEA is honoring districts that meet rigorous criteria as evidenced from data.

For the 2021 award, over 1,100 districts were eligible to apply. Each district submitted documentation they met from the 14-point rubric over the 2020-2021 school year.
