Navasota ISD’s bond project is in the middle of its biggest phase. At the recent Navasota State of the City event, Superintendent Dr. Stu Musik gave an update on how the second phase, the largest and most expensive of the bond, is going in 2020.
“Of the 55 million dollar bond, 31 million dollars of that is all in phase two, going on right now,” said Dr. Musik.
Dr. Musik recapped the phase two projects, which includes work at the high school and junior high, ranging from a new roof to a brand new science wing.
But, of all the projects happening, Dr. Musik took time to share his excitement with the newly renovated CTE building and the new programs it will provide the students.
“We opened it up in August, when we started this school year. Got a brand new roof, new HVAC system, new classrooms. If you have not been through there, it is very nice,” Dr. Musik said. “New programs and some new options. Veterinary medicine or small animal medicine. We have auto tech shop in there that I would put against anybody, anywhere. Very, very impressive. There is new paint booths, new welding booths that are in there, to prepare students in all those different areas.”
Dr. Musik also thanked citizen’s for their cooperation with the ongoing construction at the schools.
