Navasota ISD and High School have never shied away from offering plenty of portieres to students. From auto tech to even salons, there is something for everyone. And now, that even includes aviation!
Principal of the High School Kristi Ramsey talked with us about what they are offering through their engineering program.
“We are partnering with a program called Tango Flight. The students that choose the engineering pathway will experience a 4 way pathway, like all our CTE programs. The first two years, it is general engineering and robotics, then moving into the junior and senior year, they will participate in the Tango Flight program, where they will be constructing an airplane,” said Ramsey.
“Our engineering lab space is going to be the dedicated lab space for that build.”
You may be thinking “you can’t build a whole airplane in a school,” and you would be correct in thinking that.
“Towards the end of the two year build, there will come a time when it has to be relocated. But until that time, yes, everything will be done here on campus,” Ramsey said.
Navasota ISD’s new aviation engineering program offered to students will begin in the 2022-2023 school year.
