Navasota Jr. High Teacher Awarded

March 18, 2015 by Willy1550

Yet another local educator is in the news today. Sam Houston State University has named Navasota Junior High’s Cara Moreland distinguished secondary teacher of the year. And one who knows her well, . . . Both professionally and personally, . . . Says she’s not surprised at all.

School Counselor Kimberly Finke is adamant in her praise of Moreland’s dedication, and both she and Moreland agree that one of the big reasons for the nomination began when finke came to Moreland, . . . Looking for help trying to find a foster home for two students, and what started as a few weeks has now turned into a full adoption.

It’s been an adjustment, Moreland admits, but she says she loves the two new teenage additions to her home and happily reports that her new family has started to meld together.

We at Navasota News add our congratulations to Moreland for her success and wish her new family good fortune in all their endeavors together.
