A call for a recovered stolen vehicle out of Angelina County leads to the arrest of a Navasota man on numerous charges.
Bryan Police received the call to come to BYOT Auto Parts last Monday, where the subjects, a male driver and female passenger, were still on site. The driver was asked how he came into possession of the 2006 Nissan Altima, and stated his Father In Law, Domingo, had given it to him and was paying it off. When informed that the car was listed as stolen, the driver said it could n be because he had the keys.
Deputies then called the Angelina County Sheriff”s Office, and spoke with Domingo, who said he wished t press charges for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.
A search of the man also discovered a small amount of weed, and around 2 grams of Crystal Meth. He was arrested, and identified as 26 year old Edgar Garza of Navasota. The passenger was also issued a citation for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Garza remains in the Brazos County jail on bonds totaling $12,000.
