A 47-year-old Navasota man is out on a $2,000 bond today, after being arrested late last month for allegedly stealing a bicycle from a parking lot on the Texas A&M campus.
University PD Detective Cody Clemens says, both Robert Reyes and a woman identified as Starla Kay Posey were caught on camera taking bikes. Afterwards, he goes on, Bryan PD reported that Reyes has been accused of pawning at least 43 bikes both in Houston and the Bryan College Station area since the beginning of the year.
Clemens tells Navasota News that while there is still a warrant out for Posey’s arrest. But they caught a break with Reyes after discovering he was going to report in for court earlier last week and had the courts bailiffs hold onto him until him until the detective arrived.
With additional theft charges already on Reyes’ record, TAMU PD’s Lieutenant Allan Baron says, a judge will now have to decide whether or not Reyes will see further punishment. But currently the Navasota man is only charged with a misdemeanor theft which could cost him another $2000 in fines and put him behind bars for six months.
