A vehicle flagged for no insurance stopped by College Station police devolves into a Navasota man being tasered, and facing numerous felony charges.
The car was stopped near Harvey Mitchell Parkway early Sunday morning. The report says that upon making contact, 34 year old Justin Jerome Hearld of Navasota was asked to step out of the vehicle, and was seen by the officer handing a bag of marijuana to his passenger.
As the officer attempted apprehending Hearld, he began to evade arrest, and was eventually tasered. On his person, police found a small amount of crystal meth, marijuana, and a Glock 40 caliber handgun.
Hearld had been previously sentenced to 13 years for armed robbery, and has committed two parole violations since. He is also awaiting trial on three charges in Brazos County, which include Assault on a Family member.
In addition to a bonding company not taking him as a client and facing bond for his previous charges, Hearld faces new charges of Evading Arrest with Previous Detention, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Hearld remains in jail on bonds which total $53,000.
The passenger Healrd handed the weed to, a 25 year old Hempstead woman, also faces a Possession of Marijuana charge.
