Navasota man faces felony assault charge after beating man to point of needing medical helicopter

A Navasota man is in jail after beating a man to the point of needing a medical helicopter.

The incident happened Thursday December 9th, according to the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office, when deputies were called to the Grassy Creek Trailer Park in Navasota for the assault in progress. Deputies began life saving measure as they arrived and found one man unresponsive.

He was taken by helicopter to a local hospital, where his latest condition is not known.

The next day, December 10th, officers arrested 29 year old Thomas Dillon Nobles of Navasota. He faces charges of Aggravated Assault Casing Serious Bodily Injury with a Deadly Weapon, which is a first degree felony. He also faces a misdemeanor charge of Assault Causing bodily Injury.

Nobles remains in jail on bonds totaling $130,000.

The case is being investigated, and no further information has been released.
