A Navasota man is in jail on a litany of charges after a domestic incident in College Station.
That happened Saturday, according to the CSPD arrest report, at the America’s Best Value Inn off Highway 6. The reporting party stated a man had thrown a woman to the ground and was on top of her. Police arrived and defused the situation, separating the parties.
The officer noticed bruises on the woman, and the man sweating and appearing angry. The man waived his rights, and spoke to officers, stating the two had been in a relationship since April, and denied having assaulted her.
The woman spoke to officers, and said they had gotten in an argument, and he beat her. She said the two had bought drugs together, and gotten back to their hotel room when the argument started. She ran out of the room toward the highway, and he followed, eventually pinning her down and striking her head with open and closed fists.
Officers noted defensive wounds on the woman.
Consent was given for the officers to search the hotel room, where they found marijuana, methamphetamine, and a loaded Glock 22, which was found to be stolen.
The man was arrested, and identified as 33 year old Justin Jerome Hearld of Navasota. He was previously convicted of Assault Family Violence, and was previously imprisoned on Forgery of a Financial Instrument and Aggravated Robbery conviction.
Hearld faces new charges of Possession of Marijuana, Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1, Assault Family Violent with Previous Conviction, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.
He remains in the Brazos County Jail.
