Navasota man jailed on drug, weapons charges after traffic stop in Millican

November 19, 2021 by Willy1550

A traffic stop for not displaying a front license plate lands a Navasota man in jail for the second time since 2020.

That stop happened at the FM 2154 and FM 159 intersection in Millican just after midnight Friday. Upon approaching the vehicle, the driver, identified as 22 year old David Alec Bohack of Navasota, advised he had a handgun inside the vehicle.

Bohack refused consent to search the vehicle, so he and the passenger, identified as 20 year old Truman Garza, were asked to stand in front of the vehicle. The officer smelled marijuana in the vehicle, and found residue o the floorboard. A more in depth search yielded marijuana, plus edible gummies and THC Oil in cartridges. Also inside was a Glock handgun with five rounds.

Bohack was taken to jail, facing charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance PG2, Possession of Marijuana, and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.

At last check, he remains in jail on bonds totaling $18,000.
