Navasota man passed out drunk at College Station apartment arrested on two Grimes County warrants

May 16, 2022 by Andre Perrard

Reports for a drunk man asleep outside an apartment early Saturday morning eventually lead to the arrest of a Navasota man on numerous Grimes County warrants.

College Station PD say they responded around 9 am Friday morning to Sundance Apartments for the man, lying face down on his stomach, wearing no shoes. Upon waking him, the man said “please do not use the yellow gun,” in reference to the officers taser.

When questioning him, officers received incoherent and mumbling responses. The man then said he last remembered being at a rodeo event sober, and walked to that location. Due to being asleep near Harvey Road, a major roadway, 28 year old Jordan Shayne Smith of Navasota was taken to jail for Public Intoxication.

When running his information, officers also discovered two warrants from the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office, one for Theft, and one for Evading Arrest.

At last check, Smith remains in jail without bond set.
