Navasota Man Sentenced To 4-Years Behind Bars

June 20, 2016 by Willy1550

An Assistant Brazos County District Attorney hopes a 26-year-old Navasota man sentenced to four years behind bars Thursday June 9th after pleading guilty to a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, has finally learned his lesson.

Thankfully, Ryan Calvert reports, no-one was seriously hurt in the crash, adding this wasn’t the first, nor the only time that Jake Seeger has found himself in a similar situation.

3-years ago here in Grimes, the ADA tells Navasota News, Seeger lost control of his vehicle and crashed while on PCP. He had recently pled guilty to that 2014 incident when he was charged and then once again in May while his 2014 case was pending.

And that, Calvert explains, is why Seeger was charged with the more serious offense.

Seeger started his 4-year-term in the big-house Thursday, but, Calvert continues, if he keeps his nose clean while on the inside, Seeger will be up for parole after serving half his term; in mid-2018.
