Navasota man surrenders peacefully to police after barricading self inside home

July 13, 2022 by Andre Perrard

A man with multiple warrants barricaded inside a Navasota home had the attention of law enforcement for a few hours on Wednesday.

NPD interim police chief Mike Mize says that a known fugitive, 32 year old Darrell Hemann of Navasota, barricaded himself inside a home at East Washington and Victoria Avenue.

Online records show that Hemann had a warrant placed for his arrest on Tuesday for Assault Causing Bodily Injury to a Family Member. Negotiations eventually led to Hemann surrendering peacefully, and he was subsequently taken to the Grimes County jail.

Assisting on scene with NPD was the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office, DPS, and College Station Police.

No further information has been released.
